Markville Transitions Activity Council
TAC, the Transitions Activity Council, is a group of about 50 students in grades 10-12 who are passionate about helping Grade 9 students with their transition into high school!
TAC also works closely with the Student Activity Council (SAC) and Markville Athletic Council (MAC) - making SMACT. TAC is looking forward to meeting all our incoming Grade 8s and we encourage you to be a mentor in the spring. Aside from SMACT, Markville also has many other fun clubs for students to join. Transitioning to Secondary School
We are here to support students in their transition to Grade 9 and throughout their high school years. We take extra care to ensure Grade 9 students feel welcomed, prepared and supported.
This includes:
- A Transitions Activities Council made up of about 50 student leaders
- Grade 9 Day before the start of school and a Grade 9 Camp Day focused on team building.
- Peer tutoring and study seminars, including exam‑preparation support
- Strong connections with feeder schools through visits, open houses and collaboration
- Early‑year classroom visits by administrators to reinforce safety, belonging, and open communication.
