Academic Program
Markville Secondary School offers a wide range of courses to meet the needs of all students, including ESL programming for our Multi-Language Learners, an exceptional Student Services team, Personalized Alternative Education programming, and a strong and supportive Student Success Team. Students who would like to explore specific program areas at an in-depth level can do so through one of our five Specialist High Skills Major programs including:

- Information and Communication Technology
- Health and Wellness
- Arts and Culture
- Environment.
In addition, we offer Grade 11 Accelerated NBE3UE, MCR3UE, CIE3ME, and Grade 12 Advanced Placement ENG4UE, MHF4UE, MCV4UE, SCH4UE, CHY4UE, CGW4UE, CIA4UE.
Our Graduates
Each graduating class from Markville reflects a vibrant diversity of pathways, with students pursuing a wide range of post-secondary studies, careers, and personal passions - including, but not limited to, college, university, and Skilled Trades programs. A significant number of our graduating students each year are consistently recognized as Ontario Scholars, earn scholarships, and are recipients of prestigious national awards. Markville strives to instill in our graduates a strong sense of self, community, well-being, and the confidence needed to pursue their next chapter.
Extra- and Co-curricular Opportunities
Markville Secondary School offers a multitude of extra- and co-curricular opportunities for students through its wide variety of clubs, sports, and organizations. The enthusiasm and initiative demonstrated by our teachers and student body is exemplary. As a result, our clubs and teams excel in a wide variety of activities including: art exhibitions, athletics, anti-racism campaigns, DECA, Model United Nations, drama productions, environmental initiatives, mathematics, music, science competitions, global citizenship activities, and a school newspaper to list just a few.
Student leadership at Markville is comprehensive and comprises our 4 main student councils: SAC (Student Activity), MAC (Athletics), TAC (Transitions), and SWAC (Wellness).
The Music Department at Markville Secondary School consistently ranks amongst the top in all music competitions. Furthermore, students participate in a variety of high level academic competitions. Markville Secondary School also emphasizes the importance of bringing curriculum to life outside the classroom through a multitude of international travel opportunities as well as an extensive Co-operative Education Program to enrich learning.
