History

Welcome to the History Department.

Our vision is the creation of an educational environment that is innovative, exciting and engaging for both students and educators alike. Our history program at Markville Secondary uses simulations, collaborative learning, technology and travel as a framework, creating a multi-disciplinary program that facilitates continuous learning and fosters creative and critical thinkers through experiential learning.

We believe in a learning environment where students are increasingly challenged to take power over their education. We believe this gives students a voice while equipping them with the knowledge required to become responsible and active citizens in both the school community and the world. These can be achieved by striking a balance between the use of technology and human interaction.
